Facilitating Load Distribution Based on Microkernel Technology

چکیده
The Distributed Scheduling Framework (DSF) is a load distribution (LD) tool built on top of the Mach operating system. It allows the replacement of LD algorithms without the need to shut down the system. It also supports multiple LD algorithms running on the system concurrently so that users can choose a suitable LD algorithm for submitting their tasks according to their choice. Implementing LD algorithm can be easier by using services provided by DSF. This paper describes the design objectives and the architecture of DSF. Methods to make use of DSF are also presented.

Component Interfaces in a Microkernel-based System
Existing component models are targeted towards exible software design and load distribution between multiple nodes. These systems are mainly designed for interoperability. Thus, they are very general and exible, but slow. Building a microkernel-based system using existing component technology would result in bad overall system performance. We propose an approach to overcome the limitations of e...
متن کاملTransCom: A Communication Microkernel for Transputers
The microkernel includes services to virtualise the communication network, which provides a parallel programming model based on message passing. It has been designed in two steps: a tiny system core called TransRouter providing simple functions for data transport and routing, but without protocol services, and a basic set of communication primitives, on top of the TransRouter and including its ...
متن کاملA New Load-Flow Method in Distribution Networks based on an Approximation Voltage-Dependent Load model in Extensive Presence of Distributed Generation Sources
Power-flow (PF) solution is a basic and powerful tool in power system analysis. Distribution networks (DNs), compared to transmission systems, have many fundamental distinctions that cause the conventional PF to be ineffective on these networks. This paper presents a new fast and efficient PF method which provides all different models of Distributed Generations (DGs) and their operational modes...
متن کاملOpen Microkernel Technology, Key to Evolving Telecommunication Systems and Networks
Today's telecommunications companies are facing a serious software crisis. They need to preserve and leverage their enormous software base on rapidly evolving hardware architectures, while extending it as quickly as possible. The computer industry faced a similar problem and solved it with UNIX. However, traditional UNIX by itself does not meet the requirements of most telecommunication applica...
متن کاملDetermination of Load and Strain-Stress Distributions in Hot Closed Die Forging Using the Plasticine Modeling Technique
An axisymmetric hot closed die-forging process has been studied by physical modeling technique using the plasticine. To observe the material flow pattern, layers of plasticine with different colors were used. The normal direction to the layers was considered a principal direction. The strain distribution was obtained by measuring the thickness of the plasticine layers. Based on the strain distr...
